Consultants resurveyed from scratch—decades of data sat in silos. A database and LiDAR now surface constraints before designs lock.
Hong Kong's government body overseeing environmental impact assessments for all major infrastructure and development projects, with decades of accumulated EIA reports held in siloed archives unavailable to consultants.
Consultants preparing new EIA reports had no access to the government's historical survey data, forcing redundant ecological fieldwork on every...

LiDAR missed 30% of the canopy. Researchers now use computer vision to map individual trees at 1-meter resolution.
Task-by-task, manual mapping couldn't keep pace with national recovery targets. AI now maps peatlands and tracks restoration across England.
Tedious document routing and formatting kept staff from educational duties. Now, AI auto-routes files and drafts press releases.
