Therapy sessions often involve multiple speakers and complex audio environments, making accurate transcription technically difficult to build from scratch. Developing a proprietary speech engine would have diverted engineering resources away from core product differentiation.

The team integrated AssemblyAI’s Universal Speech-to-Text and Speaker Diarization models to accurately attribute speech in multi-party sessions. They subsequently deployed Universal-Streaming capabilities to enable real-time transcription features without rebuilding foundational infrastructure. This API-first architecture allowed developers to focus on clinical workflows rather than backend speech pipelines.
