Project Guacamaya integrates daily satellite imagery from Planet Labs with Amazon-specific AI models to monitor deforestation in the rainforest. It employs a custom multimodal audio language model (CLAP) for bioacoustic analysis and open-source image models developed using the Pytorch Wildlife framework to rapidly identify deforestation patterns and animal species. This integrated solution supports government agencies and research institutions by streamlining environmental monitoring and enabling prompt conservation actions.
